Sunday's Adventures in Stamping Challenge - Ungirly Nails

For today's challenge, we couldn't use any girlie stuff.  So no pink, or glitter and this is what I came up with.

 Here is what I used
Rejuvacote, Paper Mậché, Black Vinyl, Ghouls Glow, Superdry TC

The bottle really glows in pics, and the nails do too, they just don't photograph well.

Using  Sugar Bubbles plate 001, Konad White and KC Black I added the skulls.
Keep in mind when you add the glow in the dark  polish, it will change the color to an off white shade.
Here is a blurry, some what glowey picture of the effect it gives you.  It is a little freaky at night time when the lights go down and you only see your nails floating around.

One, two Freddy's coming for you

I felt like doing some Halloween nails today, here is what I came up with.

Started off with a base of Orly Black Vinyl and China Glaze Hologram

Using the Sugar Bubbles plate SB001 I added the Freddy Krueger image as well as the blood splats.
SH Insta-Dri Silver Sweep and Konad Wine Red was the polish I used to stamp with.

Untried Tuesday - Tom Ford Black Sugar #24

My husband is so sweet I asked him to look for a YSL polish and he comes home with not only the YSL but he also stopped at the Tom Ford counter and picked up Black Sugar.

Black sugar is a limited edition polish that is part of the fall 2013 collection.  This is a plum- taupe with a hidden red shimmer.  The application was great, and for $32 it better be.  It did apply nice and smooth with no bubbles or streaks.  It took two coats for a full  smooth coverage.
You can see the red in the bottle but not on your nails.
This looks like a darker version of Chanel's Particuliere.

Drugstore Haul

While I was out at Walgreens looking  for Vanicream cleanser for my daughter I just happen to walk pass the nail polish collections and found these beauty's.

At $9.99 a pop I went ahead and got only 1 of the nail art kits.  I love Maleficent so I had to get that one.

This is what I ended up buying.
SH Red-io Active, Wet n Wild Poison Ivy, and from Sinful Colors Black Magic

I'm off to swatch part two of my anniversary present, the MoYou UK plates came in.

Sunday Stamping Challenge

Today's challenge for the Facebook group Adventures in Stamping was to create a fall mani.   This is what I did.

Started off with a base of Finger Paints Take it or Leaf it and Orly Black Vinyl

A bronze foil from the fall 2012 collection, Fall of Surprises.  Prior to applying this I used a thick base coat or you would be able to see every ridge.  So I started off with Revlon gel base coat.

Using plate LLC-B I added the tree to my accent nail.

Using plate HD06 and the Finger Paints Take it or Leaf it,  I added the leaves to the rest of my nails.

I did add some green to the leaves to add some color.

Part 1 of Anniversary Present

Yesterday was my fifteen year wedding anniversary!

My husband took advantage of having to be in Houston to shop, he sent me this picture to tease me.  Keep in mind I thought I already had received my gift in the form of stamping plates(Sugar Bubbles, MoYou and MoYou UK).  So this was a nice surprise.
From Neiman's Tom Ford Black Sugar and YSL Gris Underground
He also stopped at Sephora and picked up Illamasqua's Pink Raindrops
I did a quick swatch of them will probably review them in detail later on in the week.  The TF and YSL applied like butter but the Illa was think and lumpy.  I applied thinner so hopefully that will help.

And to top it off, he also bought me a pound of See's Candies Nuts and Chews, like the best chocolate ever.

Once all the plates come in I'll post them as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

First Halloween Nails of the Season

I know it's early but I can't wait for Halloween so here we go.  This is what I ended up with.

Started off with
Sephora by OPI Cab Fare, CG Riveting, and CG Foxy
I used CG Riveting as the base, this was from the 2012 Hunger Games Collection.  I added a gradient to the accent nail using Cab Fare, Riveting, Foxy and a make-up sponge.
Using plate MJ VII and KC in black I added the cat to the accent nail.
I added paw prints using plate SB 013, from Sugar Bubbles.

Untried Tuesday Zoya - Blu

For today's untried Tuesday I went with Zoya's Blu.

Zoya describes this as a soft and delicate  pale baby blue in a cream finish.  This reminded me about back in the day when I would use white out, there used to be a blue version of it that looked just like Blu.  Application was thick and streaky once I added thinner it went on a lot smoother.

Blu in the sun
 Blu in the shade
Once again I can't leave anything alone, I used plate QA 32 and KC black to stamp the images on my nails.
