Birthday Nails

Today is my little Turtle Bean(aka Charlotte Faith) birthday, she's 2.  She is such a little girly girl I had to have pink sparkly nails.

I started off with a base of Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream and OPI Teenage Dream.

 Next I made nail decals using plate VI from My Online Shop and various different polishes.  I always make extra decals just in case I tear them trying to remove them from the parchment paper.

 I love decals, to bad I get a little cross eyed filling them in.

 Mmmm cupcakes!

 She is so sweet(cough at times, terrible two's are kicking in)

Magnetic Monday - Barry M Magnetic Blue

I felt like playing with magnets today so I went in search for my Barry M.  I picked this up from Harlow & Co, but Ninja Polish now carries Barry M as well.  

 When using magnetic polish, since it's fairly opaque 1 coat will do.

Once it dries, you will work on 1 nail at a time.  I like using these magnets that I picked up for .25 on clearance at Sally's.  They seem to be stronger than the ones that come with the polish.

 Apply a thick coat to the nail and immediately place the magnet over the nail for 10 seconds.  You want to get as close to the nail as possible.  I didn't use a top coat because the images tend to blur and you loose the effect.

 I added and accent nail in silver to break up all the blue.  I used CG Cheers To You, a silver foil, and topped that off with a coat of CG Glistening Snow, a silver holo glitter.

Zombie Hello Kitty

I went ahead and recycled yesterday's mani and just added a few things, here is what I used.

Started off with Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Grapefruit

then I broke out the dotting tools, acrylic paint and 

Hello Kitty Plate that I bought from My Online Shop

 I made a decal using the Zombie Hello Kitty for my ring finger then I added different size black dots.  On the larger dots I went ahead and added some white ones.

 I really need to stop doing decals after midnight, my eyesight gets wonky and makes it hard to fill it in with the correct colors.

 This polish is making the camera go bonkers, each shot is a different color, it really is this bright pink not the pastel orange that's in the second shot.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine in Grapefruit

I originally had bought Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine to stamp with but I really like this color for summer.  The Gelly polishes are suppose to give you the glossy high finish of gel manicures.

This color is very opaque, one coat would work but I went with two.  It has a nice size brush, and the application was smooth and self leveling.

This is  a lovely bright coral pink that is very hard to capture. 

I love the shine you get, this is two coats with NO top coat.

Adventures in Stamping Sunday's Challenge

So this past Sunday's challenge was inspiration from your favorite shoes.  I choose an old pair of patchwork Coach  tennis shoes.

So this is what I used for the base

Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream is one of the few pinks in my collection, but easily my favorite.  This is two coats on each nail.

Here are the stamping polishes I used.  I actually mixed a few to get the right shade.  Just make sure you work fast because they dry quickly

 MJ plate IV which I purchased from Myonline Shop but you can also order them from Ninja Polish.  I really like her plates because there is a nice mixture of full nail designs as well as smaller art work.

Here is the finished look.
