Urban Outfitters - Pink Holo

What's this, the sun is OUT!!  Woo-hoo break out some holo polish.

On my last outing in New Orleans we stopped at Urban Outfitters looking for band aids of all things.  We walked out with a box of zombie band aids and two clearance polishes.

My niece found a bucket full of dusty  .99 cent polishes.  I walked out with a pink and blue holo.

 My nails have a lot of ridges so I  applied two coats of the Revlon Gel Base Coat.

 The application was great, this is three coats with no top coat.

 In the shade it turns into a muted pink.

 I waited as long as possible, but my plates started calling my name.  I went with some heart designs using Apipila p.2 plate and KC in black.

 I was trying out a new stamper on my pinky finger with no success.   I need to use a lighter hand so it doesn't turn into a blob.

First Mani of the Christmas Season

All this Christmas shopping has me in the mood for some Christmas nails.  

Here is what I came up with

I started off with a base of Urban Outfitters Silver Holo.  

Using China Glaze Techno, I added some sparkle to my accent nail.  Look at all that holographic glitter in different shapes and sizes!

 I like all the rainbows and sparkle.

I added poinsettia's using plate LLC-B from Llarowe and SH in Red-io Active.

Here is the finished result.  Hmm, next time I think I'll try candy canes instead.

 Even in the shade the glitter sparkles brightly.

Untried Tuesday- Zoya Frida and Cheeky Plate

This is what I did today for untried Tuesday.   

 I started off with Zoya Frida, which I just picked up at Ulta for $2.99.

 Zoya describes Frida as a sheer, dark, warm-toned teal blue with buildable jelly gloss finish.  This was 5 coats with top coat.  Having to use so many coats I was glad that it at least it dried fast.

 I than used Cheek CH46 plate and Urban Outfitters in Green Holo to add the designs onto my nail. 

Here is the final look, with no top coat.

A Quicky Stamped Mani

So I reused the base of China Glaze, Strap On Your Moonboots

 And added some stamps using Urban Outfitters Silver Holo and the DRK-A plate that I purchased from the Ninja's.

So here is the finished look

Urban Outfitter Green Holo

Here is everything I used for this mani.  

After using Gelous as a basecoat and Nfu Aquabase on my left hand only(I wanted to see if it really made a difference) I applied Urban Outfitters Green Holo.

On my left hand, with only Gelous, it applied patchy.  I had a bald spot on my ring finger and it took three coats to smooth everything out.  On my right hand, the one with Nfu Aquabase it was a smooth application and only two coats were needed.  Keep in mind when using an aquabase, you have to wait for it to be completely dry before you begin to apply the polish.  

In terms of a difference in the holo-ness between the aquabase vs reg. basecoat I didn't see a difference.

Next I picked up the stamped decal I made using plate MJ IV.  I painted the dino's using China Glaze's in Unpredictable and Deviantly Daring.

After applying a little top coat place the decal on the nail and using a soft paddle brush I smooth the image out.  Using a little acetone I clean up the edges.  Finish it up by adding more top coat.
