Burberry Poppy Black

While in Dallas I stopped into Nordstrom, just to browse the Burberry beauty counter.  Really I was just browsing.  I knew I had two polishes waiting for me at home and I just wanted to see the colors in person.  My sister came up to me and told me to pick one.  After a few no, no you don't have to; I picked Burberry Poppy Black.

I know, I know.  I herd it from my sister.  Black really??  Yes, I went with Poppy Black and glad that I did.

Poppy Black is an extremely dark black creme polish.
Burberry polish is sold at Nordstrom..  It retails for $21 for a .27oz bottle.
It has a nice rounded brush, but its not to wide.
Formula wise, it is a bit on the thick side so I used two thin coat.  This really could be a one coat polish, it is that opaque.
The polish dried fairly quickly and very shiny.  According to Nordstrom the polish should be dry in two minutes and completely hardened by six and a half minutes.
I've been wearing this polish for 3 days now and not a single chip or tip wear.  I know I love Orly Black Vinyl but it does take a few coats for it to be opaque.  You got to love a long lasting, one coat black polish like Poppy Black.
For New Years I went ahead and used Handy plate N5 to add some firework designs to my nails.

A quick look back of my five favorite mani's of 2013.

Christmas Gifts!

I hope you all had a great Christmas!
I was fortunate, that my husband was able to take me to Dallas to spend the holidays with most of my family.

Here are my girls after they've worn out my sisters "babies".

Nothing like getting back from vacation and getting the blah's!  I told my husband, you know I'm not feeling well when I don't want to play with all the goodies I got for Christmas.  Oh well, I'm finally getting around to taking photo's of them to share with you all.

Great packaging from Beautylish!

I love the Minnie Mouse boxes and the best lash curler from billybBeauty.
From Burberry Oxblood, Poppy Black and English Rose

Anna Sui in Midnight Purple, Snow White and N103
 A trio of YSL

A quick heads up, I'll be having my first ever giveaway starting the first week of January, a Magno

Chanel - Cosmic

Cosmic is a special edition polish that is part of the Nuit Magique Collection.  These are a Macy's exclusive or can be purchased from Chanel for $27.

Cosmic is a black jelly with shimmers in blue and silver.  Even in direct sunlight the shimmer is well hidden.

The formula is a little thin, but it applied nice and smooth.    This is two coats, I tried a different QDTC and that is the reason for the shrinkage.

I thought it would look like Zoya Storm, but with blue.  Not even close.

I went ahead and added a couple of Christmas designs using the Sugar Bubbles plate Special 002 and Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Silver Sweep
I got a few drag marks when I added the top coat.

Illamasqua duo of Viridian and Glitterati

Last Christmas I received the duo of Illamasqua Viridian and Glitterati as a Christmas gift.  I thought I'd break them out and give them a try.

Viridian is a gorgeous green in a metallic finish.

I had no problem with the application, no streaks or patches which is always good.  It was opaque in one coat, out of habit I did two coats.

Glitterati is a cranberry base with holographic glitter.  There is a lot of glitter in this, they're not kidding.    I don't know why but a fruit cake always comes to my mind when I see this polish.

Started off with adding an accent nail, didn't like it.
So then I went ahead and did the rest of the nails.
This is one coat over Viridian, there was so much glitter, no bald spots.

AIS Sunday Challenge - Animalistic

I didn't get a chance to do my Sunday challenge until late yesterday but I still want to share.

I started off with a base of China Glaze Dandy Lyon' Around
I added the zebra design using the MoYou Pro Collection plate 05 and Kleancolor in black.
I was testing out a new stamper so some of the zebras are a little wonky.

Simple Green and Gold

I didn't have a lot of time to do my nails but I still wanted something festive.  So I went with  simple green and gold nails.

Started off with a base of China Glaze Jolly Holly, a gorgeous forest green.  Next I added Essie Good as Gold to my ring finger.

You can see every ridge and bump when using metallic polish.  To help eliminate some of the ridges I  used a make up sponge to dab a layer of polish prior to TC.

From  Múndo de Uñas, I used the plate Handy N5 to add the designs to two of my nails.

I used the same polish to stamp the designs.
