Mickey Mouse Nails

I'm so excited we're going to Disney world this week, which is why I haven't been posting lately.  That being said I felt the need to break out  with some Mickey nails for the occasion.

 Here is what I did.
For the base I used,  OPI's Magazine Cover Mouse which is from the Minnie Mouse Collection and FP Paper Mache. The Mickey mouse stamp is KC black and plate MJ VII. I used a dotting tool KC Black and Konad white for the Mickey heads and dots.
The red base is a liquid sand polish, which is a textured polish.   So I went ahead and used a coat of Gelous base and a quick dry top coat to have a smooth surface.
Next, using the dotting tool I added the Mickey heads and white dots.

The wi-fi is sketchy so I won't be posting for awhile.  I might post some haul pics over on my Facebook page if possible.

Illamasqua - Collide

Before my nails broke, I had on my favorite pink, Illamasqua's Collide.

Collide is a bright, bright, bright neon pink.  Did I say bright?  The formula is a bit sheer, I used three coats with top coat.
The application  is great, no streaks or bald spots and I didn't see any chips until day 3.

I purchased this during a sale Illamasqua was having but you can also purchase it from Sephora for $17.

Zoya - Josie

During my last visit to Ulta I found alot of Zoya's in the clearance section.  I picked up Josie for $3.99.

Zoya describes Josie as a full coverage grassy green cream.  This looks a little lighter than it does on the website.

The application was nice.  It went on nice and smooth and no streaks.
This is two coats with top coat.
A while ago I had purchased a square stamper from Fab Ur Nails.  It has a soft stamper pad so it has some give which works great when using plates with fine details.
I used the Pro Collection 08 plate from MoYou and some Mundo de Uñas polish in mexican pink and cream(I think) to stamp some daisies.
I'm still trying to get the hang of the stamper, I used a little to much umph and the designs spread out a bit.
I really like how the cream and pink look against the green.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to finish trying to even out my nails.

CrowsToes - Hellhound

While I was hunting down Orly's Black Vinyl( both the old and a new one have gone MIA) I came across CrowsToes Hellhound.
I don't even remember when I bought this,  I think I might have a problem.
But look at how pretty it is.
I used two coats over a black undies(base).
I picked this up from Llarowe.  It retails for $13 for a 15ml bottle(same size as OPI).   Hellhound is a sheer burgundy base with flecks that shift from orange to gold.
The application was great, no streaks or bald spots and dried fairly quickly.

Congratulations to Carly V. who won my Zoya prize pack of my favorite 3 Pixie's.

Strum My Heartstrings Challenge - Anti-Valentine

Today's Challenge over at The Lacquered Landlubber is  an anti-Valentine theme.
I went with a simple black mani with a pink  accent nail with stamped black roses.

I started with a base of Rimmel Black Satin and OPI Pussy Galore.
I like how the pink texture of the OPI looks next to the black.
I used KC black and the DRK -A plate to add the roses .

Strum My Heart-Strings Challenge - French Tip Technique

Tes, over at The Lacquered Landlubber, is having a Valentine's Day Challenge.  Today's challenge is to use the french nails technique.

Here is what I did:
I started off with 3 coats of O.P.I.'s  Don't Touch My Tutu!  This is pre-clean up and wow you can see how yellow my nails are.

I used some guides and 1 coat of Burberry Poppy Black to do the black tips.
I really like how this looks by itself.
Finally I added bright pink bows using Mundo dé Uñas Mexican Pink polish and Konad plate m3.

Valentine Challenge

Tes over at The Lacquered Landlubber is having a Strum My Heart-Strings Challenge.  Today's challenge is to have a matte finish.

Here is what I did.
I started off with a base of Orly's Decades of Dysfunction.  Once dry I lightly sponged We're In It Together and Marshmallow both from essie.
I  added some cute decals that I picked up at Wal-mart earlier today.

I  sponged a little more pink around the decals and topped off with Hard Candy's Matte-ly In Love.

U.S.A. Nails

Anyone else getting caught with the Olympic bug?  I wanted to dress my nails for the opening ceremony.  I recycled one of my 4th of July Mani's with a twist for this one.

Started out with a base of CG Dandy Lyin' Around and Illamasqua Phallic.

Using masking tape I sectioned off the area for the stars and stripes.
I used Konad white and plate MJ VI for the stars.  The wavy stripes are made by using Konad Wine Red and Bundle Monster plate 210.  Finally I added silver striping tape to finish the look.
Here is a picture of the original.  I think I like the look of the original one better.

G O T Challenge - Green

Today's Golden Oldie Challenge is to use a green polish.  Should be simple right?  Wrong.

These are the polishes I used for today's mani.  CG Re-Fresh Mint, CG Four Leaf Clover, CG Jolly Holly.
I was planning on using Re-Fresh Mint as a base and than adding some lines and flower detail.  That was the plan.
After one disastrous nail I needed something to hide the failure.  I opted for a seran wrap base and some stamping.
I used CG Jolly Holly and Cheeky D plate for the stamping images.
Not my best work, but I wanted to share it anyway.
