AIS Sunday Challenge - Jelly Sandwich

Today's challenge over in Adventures in Stamping is use the jelly sandwich technique.  A jelly sandwich is a design sandwiched between layers of gelly polish.

This is what I did.

 For the base I used L′ORÉAL

 This is from the Limited Edition Miss Candy Collection.  I actually just picked this up at Wal-mart for $4.99.

 Gelly polishes are extremely sheer, if you want an opaque look you will need multiple layers.  This is four thin layers and you can still see VNL(visible nail lines).  The application of this gelly was a streaky mess.  You want to make sure the layers are dry before applying the next layer or you might create some bald spots

I added the designs using Betina plates B-02 and SH InstaDry in Silver Swept.

 I added a QDTC to prevent the design from smearing prior to adding the final layer of berry nice.

Halloween Nails - Spiders

As I was looking at my nail racks trying to get inspired, I heard my oldest daughter scream.  She saw a spider in her room.  After hunting down the spider I knew what I was going to do.

 I used China Glaze Cast A Spell as the base coat.  This was from the 2012 Wicked Collection.  This is a black base with green and gold shimmer.

 Application was nice and smooth.  I used two coats with a QD top coat.  I like to use a top coat when stamping just in case I make a mistake.  This way, if I'm careful I can only remove the stamp.

I added the spiders using Betina plate B-11 and Maybelline Bold Gold

I went ahead and added a matte top coat  to keep it from looking too girly.

Sunday Challenge

Today's challenge in Adventures in Stamping is to stamp over a nude base.  Here is what I did.

Started off with Tom Fords Toasted Sugar.  I had issues with a new top coat I was trying out, it wrinkled and shrunk.

 Next using the Betina plate B-11 and Cinna-snap from Sally Hansen I added the designs.

 I was hoping the color would be like the bottle instead it turned out to be a lighter red.

 Once again that new top coat had issues, it smeared the design on my index finger.   I had to go back to the Nina QDTC for the rest of them.
