Happy Thanksgiving

I hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving with their loved ones today.

One of the many things that I am thankful for is the love and support of my family.

I always thought it was funny how after one of the most restful holidays(turkey=nap), it turns into a mad rush to shop.  BLACK FRIDAY!!!(late Thursday)
For my BLACK FRIDAY nails I started off with a base of, yup you guessed it Orly Black Vinyl and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  For stamping I used Cheeky plates 54 & 55.

Just in case you're going to be out in the chaos, some of the door busters to be on the lookout for.
JcPenny is having OPI BOGO $1
Sephora Josie Maran Argan Hand Healers Set they also have Nails Inc Crystaltastic Nails at around $10 each

If you prefer to do your shopping at home Llarowe will be having different sales  through out the day.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're enjoying the start of this holiday season.

RLR Creations Full Cover Water Slide Nail Wrap

I wanted to share a bit on a nail fail using some nail wraps.  This is the first time I've used these and I'm hoping that I'll have better luck the next time around because they're really cute.

I bought two sets of wraps from the Peanuts Collection
I ordered the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and the Charlie Brown Christmas.  Each sheet consists of 2 sets of 12 different nail sizes.  They even include one for your big toe.

After applying a light base coat and working on one nail at a time.  I cut the wrap that's closest in size to my nail and trim it to fit.  Then it gets dunked in water for about 30 seconds and slide it off the paper.  I applied it my nail waited a bit and added top coat.

I'm sorry to say these turned out to be a pain in the butt.  When I went to apply the foil to my nail I would get some wrinkles and then I would pull some of the design off when I would try to straighten them.
I just wish she offered these in different lengths.   I know you might lose some of the detail but that happens anyway after they get trimmed.    Also I would have liked for them to face the other way.
Hopefully with practice I'll get better.

Zoya Tomoko and Codie

As I was standing in front of my nail racks looking for inspiration, I came across Codie from Zoya.  As you can tell from the dusty bottle I haven't used it in well over a year.  Even then I only used it to stamp a turkey.  So it's time for a complete mani.
Codie is a cool toned blackened espresso brown with subtle olive undertones.  The application was nice and smooth with no streaks or bald spots.  It was opaque in two coats.  This is a great alternative for a black polish.
I added Tomoko to my ring finger to add some sparkle.
I used a QDTC and did get a bit of shrinkage.
I wanted to test the Pixie's to see how well they would stamp.  I was happy with how well they did, they just needed a lighter base.

Rite Aide Haul - L′ORÉAL Gold Dust Collection

Once again on my way to Target I decided to stop at Ride Aide to see if they had anything new.  I spotted the new L′ORÉAL textured polishes from the Gold Dust Collection.  Four out of the nine, from the collection came home with me.

Sexy in Sequins, Too Dimensional?, Hidden Gems, Rough Around the Edges

This is Hidden Gems, this is a blackened teal with silver glitter.

 With a top coat.

Rough Around the Edges is a black base with silver shimmer

With top coat it reminds me a little like Zoya Storm

Zoya Storm
Sexy in Sequins is a dark purple with red, purple, and blue glitter.

With top coat, it's so sparkly.

Too Dimensional? is a violet base polish with gold and purple glitter.
Opps, I see a nick:(

In the shade

These went on fairly well.  I opted for three sheer coats to get it nice and opaque.  These do feel a bit rougher than say, the Pixies or the the Liquid Sands.  So if the texture of those bother you, you might want to skip these.

Panda with an Attitude

I broke out my plates to do a quick black and white mani.
Here is what I did.
Started off with CG Dandy Lyin' Around as the base.   This seems to be my go to shimmery off white.

I used two plates for the designs and Kleancolor in black.  For the spotted effect I used plate VL 009 from Vivid Lacquer.  For the panda I used  plate Rebel Collection 02 from MoYou London.

I bought the Rebel plate in hopes that I my 12 year old would let me do her nails using the panda image.  I was given an ugly look and told she can't wear that because the panda is holding guns, oh well.

I went ahead and added a matte TC

CrowsToes Indian Summer

I was so excited that I was able to grab Indian Summer when it launched last week.    I kept stalking Llarowe waiting for it to be stocked.
I purchased it from Llarowe for $13 for a 15ml bottle.
I love how it shifts color from burgundy to purple to orange.
Application was nice and smooth.  I didn't have any issues with streaks or bubbles.
It is a bit sheer so I used black undies to use less polish.  This is two coats over Black Vinyl.

Ulta Haul

I was on my way to Target to pick up diapers, when my feet headed into Ulta instead.  I didn't think it would be a problem since my Ulta never has anything but what did I spot, the new Zoya Winter 2013 Collection- The Zenith Holiday.

I bought most of them with the exception of Mosheen(bar glitter), and Cassedy(silver metallic)
Belinda, Seraphina, Payton, and Dream
They were all pretty sheer, it took 3 coats.
Belinda, Seraphina, Dream and Payton
I was also given this color lock system as a gift with purchase.  This will come in handy when I travel for the Holidays.   A quick reminder Ulta is having a buy 2 get 1 free on Zoya, plus you can use $3.50 off $10 coupon.
I also bought Carter, here it is with top coat.

Zoya - Carter

I have a new favorite purple, Carter from Zoya!

Carter is part of the Fall 2013 Pixie Dust Collection.  Zoya describes it as a royal purple in a matte texture with a sparkle metal finish.  Be aware that texture polish feels rough on the nails, it's not a smooth finish.

Even in the shade the shade it's such a beautiful color.
This is 3 sheer coats.  While it dries fairly quickly, you still want to be careful because you can dent it.
The sparkles are really bright and shinny.
With one coat of top coat.
