Valentine Challenge

Tes over at The Lacquered Landlubber is having a Strum My Heart-Strings Challenge.  Today's challenge is to have a matte finish.

Here is what I did.
I started off with a base of Orly's Decades of Dysfunction.  Once dry I lightly sponged We're In It Together and Marshmallow both from essie.
I  added some cute decals that I picked up at Wal-mart earlier today.

I  sponged a little more pink around the decals and topped off with Hard Candy's Matte-ly In Love.

You still have time to enter(here) for this great giveaway.

Essie - Cashmere Bathrobe

Essie Cashmere Bathrobe is from their fall 2013 collection.

This is  a dark grey with subtle silver shimmer.  The application was great.    It was nice and smooth with no bubbles  or bald spots.  This is two coats with a QDTC.

I added a stamp to the accent nail using the Cheeky Jumbo plate 10 and Silver Swept from Sally Hansen.

In the sunlight, it's easier to see the shimmer.

Pink Paisley Nails

I was feeling girly today, so I broke out with the pinks.  Here is what I did.
Started off with a base of Essie Mod Square, a bright, almost neon looking pink.

I used two coats with top coat.
Next I added the paisley print, using the Bundle Monster plate 315 and Konad pastel pink.
I love how quick and easy this was.

Hello Kitty as Iron Man Mani

So not to long ago I purchased some Hello Kitty as the Avengers, water decals from RLR Creations.  I decided to break out the Iron Man ones out for this mani.

I also used essie's Good as Gold and OPI Danke-Shiny Red.

So I started with Good as Gold as the base.  I should have known since it is a metallic to use the aqua base instead of a regular base.  You can see every ridge on my nail.

Than using the tape, I taped off the areas I wanted my stripes to be and covered with the OPI.

I really like this red for the mani, it works great with the gold.

So are you going to watch Iron Man 3 this weekend??

Chanel Azure and Essie Trophy Wife

So a few people have been wondering how close Essie's Trophy Wife is to Chanel's Azure.  From the bottle shots, they look similar.

This is two coats with no top coat of both essie and Chanel

So I have essie on my index and ring finger and Chanel on the others.  Azure is actually lighter and more of a metallic finish.
To me essie is more of a turquoise while Azure leans towards teal.
They were both hard to photograph.
I do prefer Azure because it looks so bright.

So what do you think is Trophy wife close enough for you??
