Zoya - Josie

During my last visit to Ulta I found alot of Zoya's in the clearance section.  I picked up Josie for $3.99.

Zoya describes Josie as a full coverage grassy green cream.  This looks a little lighter than it does on the website.

The application was nice.  It went on nice and smooth and no streaks.
This is two coats with top coat.
A while ago I had purchased a square stamper from Fab Ur Nails.  It has a soft stamper pad so it has some give which works great when using plates with fine details.
I used the Pro Collection 08 plate from MoYou and some Mundo de Uñas polish in mexican pink and cream(I think) to stamp some daisies.
I'm still trying to get the hang of the stamper, I used a little to much umph and the designs spread out a bit.
I really like how the cream and pink look against the green.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm off to finish trying to even out my nails.

AIS Challenge - Using Three Blues

Today's challenge over in the facebook group Adventures in Stamping is to use 3 different blue polishes.

Big surprise, with the weather being so cold, I went with  a snowflake design.
I used Zoya Blu as a base and stamped using CG Blue Bells Ring and KC Metallic Sapphire
I added a coat of Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor to the base to keep it from looking flat.

I used two plates for the flakes.  From Sugar Bubbles plate SB Special 002 and from My Online Shop MJ VII

A bit of a fail because you cant really see a difference between the two stamped blues.
Clean up was a pain, I have a feeling I'm going to be sporting Smurf fingers.

Zoya Tomoko and Codie

As I was standing in front of my nail racks looking for inspiration, I came across Codie from Zoya.  As you can tell from the dusty bottle I haven't used it in well over a year.  Even then I only used it to stamp a turkey.  So it's time for a complete mani.
Codie is a cool toned blackened espresso brown with subtle olive undertones.  The application was nice and smooth with no streaks or bald spots.  It was opaque in two coats.  This is a great alternative for a black polish.
I added Tomoko to my ring finger to add some sparkle.
I used a QDTC and did get a bit of shrinkage.
I wanted to test the Pixie's to see how well they would stamp.  I was happy with how well they did, they just needed a lighter base.

Zoya - Carter

I have a new favorite purple, Carter from Zoya!

Carter is part of the Fall 2013 Pixie Dust Collection.  Zoya describes it as a royal purple in a matte texture with a sparkle metal finish.  Be aware that texture polish feels rough on the nails, it's not a smooth finish.

Even in the shade the shade it's such a beautiful color.
This is 3 sheer coats.  While it dries fairly quickly, you still want to be careful because you can dent it.
The sparkles are really bright and shinny.
With one coat of top coat.

Zoya Nail Mail

Tiny haul from the Zoya Halloween Promotion.

I was surprised to see this in my mailbox yesterday.

Tomoko is a pixie dust polish which means that it is textured polish.  This is pretty sheer I used 4 coats.

I've been wanting Dahlia  since it first came out.  This is a black base with silver sparkle.  This is also a pixie dust.  I had to use 4 coats with this as well to get it opaque.

The last of my little haul is Claudine.  Zoya describes this as a meteorite grey.  This has a metallic finish.

Here is a quick swatch of Tomoko and Godiva(on my thumb) to compare the two.  Godiva is a lovely light beige while Tomoko is a silvery/gold.  Tomoko is the perfect polish for the holidays.

Untried Tuesday Zoya - Blu

For today's untried Tuesday I went with Zoya's Blu.

Zoya describes this as a soft and delicate  pale baby blue in a cream finish.  This reminded me about back in the day when I would use white out, there used to be a blue version of it that looked just like Blu.  Application was thick and streaky once I added thinner it went on a lot smoother.

Blu in the sun
 Blu in the shade
Once again I can't leave anything alone, I used plate QA 32 and KC black to stamp the images on my nails.

Cheetah Nails

I was watching Castle the other day and Martha was wearing a red cheetah print cardigan.   I liked how it looked so I tried to replicate it.

I started off with a base of Zoya's Kristi

This is such a pretty tomato red.  The formula was nice and smooth with no bubbles or bald spots, it even played nice with a QD topcoat.
I added the cheetah print by using the Sugar Bubbles plate 002 and KC in black.

Than I ruined it by adding a black and grey gradient.
I really need to work on my gradients, oh well.
