Star Wars Hello Kitty

My daughter kept watching Star Wars last weekend, she is a die hard fan.  Here she is when she was little fighting Darth Vader, during Star Wars  weekend at Disney Hollywood Studios.  So I decided to break out my new MJ Hello Kitty Plate and use the Storm Trooper and Darth Vader images.

This is what I used, Orly Bonder, Finger Paints Paper Mache, Rimmel Black Satin and
Sally Hansen Insta-Dry.

And here is the finished look
For those who prefer the traditional look, here is a quick mani pre clean up of Sugar Bubbles plate 004.

Thanks for looking!!

Nail Mail!!

Love going to the mailbox and finding packages in there.  Today I received two packages one was an Etsy purchase from Vivid Laquer(here) and the second was from JJP Beauty Supply.

Let's start off with the small one.  I was surprised at how thick the envelope was, what with it being one plate.  So I was pleasantly surprised to find the plate secured in a small jewelry box, no bubble wrap for them.   I wanted this plate to be able to have an, OPI Spotted look, but the fingerprint image is calling my name.  The plate retails for $8.
Plate VL009
The bigger envelope came from JJPBeautysupply.com(here), I was surprised to see that they choose to mail five polishes in a cardboard envelope.  I'm happy to say they all arrived intact, each polish was in a bubble envelope.

I purchased three Zoya's and two OPI's from the latest collections.
I wanted some more of the OPI Bond Girls Collection, so I added Vesper a beautiful dark purple, and Jinx a gorgeous coral color.
Vesper and Jinx

I purchased Rocky from the Stunning Collection, another blue to add to my collection a lovely creme formula.  From the Irresistible Collection, Tinsley a sheer pink/gold . And my favorite is Liberty which is from the Summer Pixie Collection 2013.

They were less expensive at $6.75 and $7.50 for the pixies plus the code ebayjjp for free shipping.

Here is a close up of the textured polish.

A little extra, my sister was nice enough to have stopped by her Sephora inside a JCP and bought me Poke, a pretty violet.  She went when they were on sale, she paid $7 for it!!

Well that's all for today thanks for looking!!

Nail Stampers 101

They're so many different stamper out there, here is a quick reference to help you pick the right stamper
for you.
I did a quick two coats of polish so excuse the lack of clean up around my nails.

This is the Magno XL Stamper, I purchased this from Magno Nails(here).  Retails for around $5(3,99EUR).  It is a two sided stamper, difference between other two sided stamper both sides on this are super soft.  This is the largest stamper I've seen, the larger side is 1.18 inches in diameter, and the smaller side is .78 in diameter.  So this is great for people with large nails.

Pro - Size, Stays in the holder, both sides are soft!
Con - Doesn't work with all plates

This is an XL Stamper, I purchased this from Ninja Polish(here).  It retails for $8 and comes with two scrapers and two tops a white one which is super squishy, and a red one which is soft but not squishy.  You can see my nails curve a lot using the white stamper allows me to just press the image directly onto my nail, which I love.  The larger side in 1in in diameter, the smaller side is a little over 1/2in in diameter.  These type of stampers either work great and pick up all images or they don't work at all.  I've been lucky the two I've had have worked great.

Pro - Works, great with my C shape nails, double sided
Con - Can come apart from the holder, at first really slick which keeps it from picking up images(use acetone or lightly buff it), it's very sticky will attract all kinds of lint.

Konad Stamper is the stamper that started it all.  You can find it on Amazon for $5.14, it comes with a metal scrapper.  This stamper does the best job at picking up the images.  Unlike the other two, this one is harder so there is little give to it.  You have to roll the stamper across your nail, which can leave bald spots
Pro - Double sided stamper, picks up images cleanly, can clean using tape or lint roller.
Con - Hard stamper tops

You can see the spots I get when I use the Konad stamper, but the image does come out crisp and clean.

XL stamper, Konad, Magno and XL stamper again

Here's what they look afterwards, you can see the impression of my whole finger on the XL Stamper(3rd).

Hopefully this helps:)

My First Jelly Sandwich using L'Oreal's Miss Pixie and Dollish Pollish's Rolling on the River

I've been seeing so many pretty jelly sandwiches out there so I decided to give it a try.  For those who don't know what a jelly sandwich is, it is a glitter polish sandwiched between coats of a gelly polish.  So I'm breaking out two untried for this one.

First I'm starting off with my recent Rite Aid find of L'Oreal Miss Pixie, its part of a limited edition collection called Miss Candy.
Miss Pixie is a royal blue, being a gelly polish it is sheer.  The formula was great each coat smooth and self leveling, it dried quickly, and had a nice brush.  On the down side it has a strong odor.
This is four coats and there is still visible nail lines.
You can see how shiny this dries to(no top coat used)
 Next comes the glitter polish

So many different shapes of blue and turquoise glitter.
This is one coat over Miss Pixie, the glitter dispersed evenly thru out the nail.
Added one more coat of Miss Pixie and here is the finished look.

 Very squishy

So what is your favorite jelly sandwich recipe??

OPI Chic From Ears To Tail

OPI Chic From Ears to Tail, retail for $9.

This is a blue base pink with shimmer, it's a cream formula and was very streaky when applying.  I used three coats to try to cover up the streaks.  I don't know why but everytime I look at my nails, I think of MAC's Snob.

The shimmer disappeared on me,

so I decided to top it off with Minnie Style, white, red, and fuchsia hexagon shaped glitter in a clear base.

When applying Minnie Style  I either had a lot of glitter or none.  I also had to move it around a lot, it tended to clump up on me.

These colors will work great for a Valentine's Day mani.

So will you getting anything from the Minnie Mouse Collection?
