AIS Sunday Challenge - Inspired by fabric

I'm keeping it short and sweet today!

Today's challenge over in Adventures in Stamping is to be inspired by fabric.  I was inspired by a corset that I own.

This is what I came up with.
I started off with a base in Sinful Colors in Inkwell.
I added the designs using Konad White and plate MM 06 from Messy Mansion.

Hmm, the white is to bright but my next choice would have been to yellow.
Oh well, close enough I guess.

Estee Lauder's Blue Dahlia

While vacationing in Orlando  my husband was nice enough to take me to the outlet mall prior to going to Disneyworld.   I had to stop at my favorite store, a CCO, and hit the jackpot .  CCO stands for Cosmetic Company Outlet, it sells Estee Lauder brands for 30% off retail.  Some of the brands you can find are Estee Lauder, Clinique, MAC, Tom Ford, Smashbox, Bobbi Brown and others.

Estee Lauder's Blue Dahlia was one of the polishes that I bought.  A dark blue, almost black polish.

This is my first Estee Lauder polish.  I really liked the look of the bottle and the smaller brush.
The application was nice and smooth.  This is two coats with no top coat yet it is still shiny.

I wanted some sparkle so I added Sinful Colors Pearl Harbor.
The blue and green glitter shows up nicely over the dark blue

You can occasionally find Sinfulcolrs on sale for $1 at Walgreen's.
I added a design using Kleancolors Metallic Sapphire, Metallic Green, Metallic Aqua and Cheeky plate C.

Thanks for stopping by!

Monday Magnetic Mani

So I have a few magnetic polishes I've never played with, so I reached into the bin and pulled out Sinful Color's Polar Opposites.

So this is two coats, prior to clean up.  It's a lighter grey with blue shimmer thru out.
Instead of using the magnet it came with I used one of this.  It's suppose to be for Gelish polish, but what the heck, a magnets a magnet right and for .49 it's even better.
So after a heavy third coat and the magnet I got a few lines to pop up.  I moved the magnet to get vertical lines instead of horizontal lines.  You can kind of see the polish getting darker and the blue shimmer is more vibrant.

Remember when working with magnetic polish, after the initial base coat, its better to do one nail at a time.

Since I wasn't really happy with it I pulled out my plates and stamped a few images over it.  I went with Cheeky Plate - D.  I purchased from Amazon, retails for $8.49.

I think my nails curve too much for magnetic polishes, so I only get partial effects.  Have you had any success with them??

Two for One Sunday

So this is my second mani, I really messed up the first one which was for AIS.  Since I removed it I decided to go with a Mother's Day mani instead.
Started off with Tom Ford's Fever Pink
It's a dream of an application, no bubbles or streaks, almost a one coater.  This is another polish I found at the Orlando CCO while I was vacationing there earlier this year.
Broke out the Konad polishes, and the MJ plate II to stamp all the baby images.

Here is the first mani I had on, it was for Sunday's challenge for the facebook group, Adventure in Stamping.  This weeks challenge was to be inspired from your favorite Fairytale, my choice was the Little Mermaid.  It did not come out like I expected it to.
So what better  color to use for a Little Mermaid mani than Sinful Colors Neptune.
It's a nice shimmery blue and for $1, can't beat that.

I used the MJ Special Edition plate to make the Little Mermaid decals, Ariel, Flounder and Sebastian.  They were a pain, the details are so small I was going cross eyed trying to fill them in.  The Seahorse is from Cheeky plate 38.
