First Attempt at Fishtail Braid Nail

I wanted to try a fishtail braid mani for the longest time.  Here is what I came up with.
Started off with a base color of SpaRitual in Off The Grid, I picked this up at Sephora for $10.
This is such a shimmery teal.
The formula is on the sheer side but it applied great with no problems.
I like this color better in the shade.
For the braid I used Kleancolor in metallic yellow, metallic aqua, and metallic green.
Naturally once I started I noticed I should have used different colors.  It wasn't as hard as I thought, but it does take a lot of time waiting for layers to dry.

Thanks for stopping by!

Adventures in Stamping Sunday's Challenge

So today's challenge was to have skittle nails(every nail a different color).  So I started off CND Sticky base and ended with Nina Pro quick top coat.
I used Illamasqua polish for my skittles, started off with
Blow, Lament, Stance, Collide, and Nomad
Blow was the only trouble maker, really patchy and streaky it was the only one that required three coats.
I grabbed my new Cheeky plate and went with the whistling hens??
So here is the finished look.
I used Kleancolor in white to stamp the images.

How do you feel about skittles??

Illamasqua Collide stamped mani

I decided to go with the opposite of yesterday's mani.  Yesterday was a nude base, so I went with Illamasqua's Collide, a neon bright pink.

I wish this photographed better, it's coming across like a coral when in fact its a bright pink.  Illamasqua is one of my favorite brands.  All their colors are unique, at least to me, and they apply like a dream.

I decided to sponge some Illamasqua's Stance along the tips.  This is such a pretty purple.

I then added some butterflies images using the Apipila P.2
Please excuse the lack of clean up, I didn't want the sun to go away.

So what are your favorite brights for summer?

Tom Ford in Toasted Sugar

So I was lucky to have found a few Tom Ford's at the CCO when I was vacationing in Orlando.  They retail for $30 and at the CCO they were $21.   Since I'm not comfortable with neutrals I decided to make it a stamp mani.  I used Kleancolor in black, which is my favorite stamping polish, Cheeky E plate and the small part of the Magno XL stamper.
This is my first nude and an untried, so two birds with one stone.

The polish applied nice and even, since it was sheer I applied three coats.
So I broke out with Cheeky plate E and used Kleancolor  in black.  The reason I prefer Kleancolor to stamp with is, it's a nice opaque black but it's easy to clean up, and it doesn't smear like Konad black does.

Well that's it for today, how do you feel about nudes?  Yay or Nay?

Chanel Le Vernis in Bel-Argus stamped Mani.

So I was lucky that a neighbor was kind enough to drop off my Chanel package that was left on his front door.  I guess I16 looks like G16.  Anyway I did a quick swatch yesterday.  I love the colors so much that I decided to do a quick stamped mani and comparison.

Here's a quick bottle comparison, with OPI Blue my mind.

So I used the OPI only on my thumb for comparison.  While it is a similar color the finish is different.

Next I stamped some butterflies using the Apipila P.2 plate(here) over Chanel Azure.

And here is the finished look.

Are you picking up anything from the summer collection?

Sunday Stamping Challenge

Here is my mani for Sunday's challenge for  the facebook group,
Adventure in Stamping.  This weeks theme is Earth day.

Here is the polish I used, Kleancolor in white, Zoya in Nina, China Glaze in Re-fresh mint, China Glaze in Gaga for Green, and Beautifully Disney in Off to the Ball.
Plates:  Sugar Bubbles 003 ( here) for the white clouds.

and I used LLC-B to make the nail decals.

I have to say I like the Disney polish.  It's the perfect shade of light blue for the background.

That's all for now, I hope your having a great day!

Urban Outfitter Green Holo

Here is everything I used for this mani.

After using Gelous as a basecoat and Nfu Aquabase on my left hand only(I wanted to see if it really made a difference) I applied Urban Outfitters Green Holo.

On my left hand, with only Gelous, it applied patchy.  I had a bald spot on my ring finger and it took three coats to smooth everything out.  On my right hand, the one with Nfu Aquabase it was a smooth application and only two coats were needed.  Keep in mind when using an aquabase, you have to wait for it to be completely dry before you begin to apply the polish.

In terms of a difference in the holo-ness between the aquabase vs reg. basecoat I didn't see a difference.

Next I picked up the stamped decal I made using plate MJ IV.  I painted the dino's using China Glaze's in Unpredictable and Deviantly Daring.

After applying a little top coat place the decal on the nail and using a soft paddle brush I smooth the image out.  Using a little acetone I clean up the edges.  Finish it up by adding more top coat.

Here is the finished look!
